Job Description

The Supervisor Trainee will train to have understanding of the facility in preparation for promotion to a first line supervisor position, which would be responsible for supervising line employees in their respective department(s).

Responsibilities

  • Fill in for other supervisor vacations and LOA's.
  • Train to direct and motivate employees to achieve department goals and standards on yield, quality, productivity and safety.
  • Leadrespective department and for meeting departmental goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
  • Directly responsible for the development and training of employees, working within the guidelines or the Union contract and company policies.
  • Directly responsible for monitoring standards and indexes needed to control area or responsibility.
  • Directly responsible for giving safety orientations and holding safety/general meetings.
  • Quick and timely feedback to supervision on all exceptions in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience (preferably in the agricultural industry)
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to communicate verbally and in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge
  • Must be able to evaluate line employees fairly and objectively
  • Must be computer literate in Windows environment
  • Must have the ability to interface on daily basis with all support groups or departments
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful
