Are you a highly organized individual and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel? LaForce is looking for someone to work as a Bid Assistant to be responsible for supporting the estimating department's daily work activities. The position involves contacting contractors and architects for bid lists and addendums and entering the information into internal computer programs. There is no prior experience necessary with this position. LaForce is a leader in the door, frame and hardware industry servicing the growing field of commercial construction.

Major Responsibilities

  • Preparation of estimating proposals which includes the use of internal computer systems.
  • Proofreading and making necessary corrections to the bids prior to sending them out to the contractors.
  • Submitting/sending out bids by the project deadline. Must be able to work in a time sensitive and deadline driven workplace.
  • Searching, downloading, electronic filing and printing of plans and specifications from various websites and plan rooms. This includes scanning, making copies, inputting data and creating files.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
